Stacy Hancher

Miss Stacy has taught professionally in the Philadelphia area since 2002 and has been part of the From the Top dance family since 2018. Nothing makes Stacy happier than sharing her love of dance with her students.

Stacy was born in Drexel Hill and grew up in West Chester. She studied dance at Harrison Dance Studios, where she was a member of The Chester County Ballet Company, Philly Jazz, and the Starlight Tap Ensemble. She was promoted to soloist in 1994 and principal dancer in 1996. Stacy performed throughout the tri-state area, including weekly shows on WPVI for Al Albert’s Showcase, danced as entertainment at the Mrs. New Jersey and Mrs. Pennsylvania pageants, and the Franklin Institute and Philadelphia Museum of Art for special exhibits, to name a few notable performances. Stacy danced in 13 annual productions of “The Nutcracker,” including roles as Clara, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Snow Queen. She also danced competitively, receiving accolades for “Most Promising Soloist” and “Perfect Partnering”.

Stacy is proud to be a 2004 graduate of the University of the Arts, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education with a concentration in Ballet. She also studied Jazz, Modern, Tap and Improvisation techniques. To attain a degree in Dance Education, Miss Stacy studied dance pedagogy, choreography, kinesiology, anatomy, psychology, dance history, and dance therapy.

Miss Stacy’s favorite part of being a dance instructor at From the Top is our annual spring recital. She loves seeing our dancers' hard work culminate onstage. She also loves connecting with our dancers, hearing about their goals, and working with our students to achieve them. Stacy feels lucky that she never has to go to “work” and gets to go to dance!
